FAA Light Sport Repairman — Inspection Training
Get certified to perform the annual condition inspection on your own experimental aircraft — and save money every year you fly.
Our Light Sport Repairman (Inspection) training prepares an owner — even one with no maintenance background — to perform the yearly condition inspection on their own Experimental Light Sport Aircraft. You'll learn how to determine whether your aircraft is in a condition for safe operation, and once you earn the certificate, you can sign off your own inspection rather than scheduling it out every year. The FAA requires applicants to be at least 18 years old and able to read, speak, and understand English.
This certificate lets you inspect aircraft you own. It's a practical, money-saving step for anyone planning to fly their experimental for years to come.
We'll bring the class to you
If there's enough interest in your area, we can run the course locally instead of asking everyone to travel. Gather a group and reach out — we'll work out the details.

What's changing: the MOSAIC rule
Recent FAA rule changes (known as MOSAIC, finalized in 2025) have expanded what light sport repairmen can do — including, in many cases, performing the annual condition inspection on experimental amateur-built aircraft, not only light sport aircraft. The details depend on your aircraft's operating limitations, and some specifics are still being clarified by the FAA. We stay current on these changes and can help you understand how they apply to what you fly.
